A lot of owner-builders like to fit the windows as they go, and pour the concrete around them.
Care should be taken with the type of wood supplied for the window. Soft wood, unless painted with a primer, has a tendency to twist because of the moisture in the concrete. KD hardwood is the best sort of timber to use for wooden reveals around windows.
If it is intended to stain the timber reveals on the inside instead of painting, we recommend that you install the windows afterwards, to avoid damage.
There are several different ways to fit windows into the Thermacell walls, and advice can be sought from Thermacell prior to ordering windows to ensure mistakes are not made.
We strongly recommend the use of quality double-glazed windows.
